Getting started

What is DMCart?
DMCart lets you create a lightweight storefront and catalog that your customers can browse and then purchase via DMs (WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, etc.). You get a shareable store URL like dmcart.app/@yourhandle and product links like dmcart.app/@yourhandle/1.
How do I create my store?
Click “Get Started” or go to the QuickStart flow in the app. Choose your store handle, add your email, and optionally add products. We’ll create your store at dmcart.app/@yourhandle. No credit card required.
How do store handles work?
Handles are unique and case‑insensitive. We normalize to lowercase and block inappropriate words. You can check availability on the claim page and during QuickStart.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes up to 5 products, store templates, and basic analytics. You can upgrade for premium templates, advanced analytics, Quick Replies, CRM, and Promo Builder + AI.

Products, media, and templates

How do I add products?
Use the Catalog in your dashboard to add name, price, description, images, and a buy link. Each public product gets a simple numeric id (e.g., 1, 2, 3) for clean URLs.
How do product images work?
Upload a main image. The system checks for derived images like thumbnails (e.g., image-thumb.jpg) and uses them when available. JPG uploads trigger our image resizer to generate variants. If a thumb doesn’t exist, the main image is used.
Can I customize my store?
Yes. Pick from templates and adjust brand colors, fonts, and hero/background imagery. Your logo and store/Instagram badges can be displayed in the header/hero.
Do you support QR codes?
Yes. You can place QR codes on your public store and product pages, inside exported ad creatives, and in your dashboard for easy download. QR codes point to your store or specific product links.

Buying and messaging

How do customers purchase?
DMCart is optimized for DM‑driven sales. Add your preferred buy link (e.g., WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram) to each product. Customers click, message you, and you complete the sale via your normal flow.
Does DMCart process payments?
Not yet. Today, DMCart focuses on catalog, storefront, and messaging‑first sales. You control your payment methods and fulfillment.
Can I track performance?
Yes. Basic analytics are available on the Free plan; advanced catalog and store analytics are available on the Pro plan.

Pricing and account

What’s included in Free vs. Pro?
Free: up to 5 products, store templates, basic analytics, email support. Pro: unlimited products, premium templates, advanced analytics, Quick Replies, CRM, Promo Builder + AI, and priority support.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You can try DMCart for free without a credit card.
Can I change my handle later?
Handles are unique identifiers. If you need to change it, contact support—availability and migration implications apply.
How do I contact support?
Use the contact form at dmcart.app/contact or email us. We offer email support on Free and priority email support on Pro.

Technical details

Do I need to pay for hosting?
No. DMCart is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and we pay for the infrastructure.
How are images stored?
Images are stored on secure object storage (S3) in Amazon Web Services (AWS). When possible, we reference optimized variants (thumbnail/hero). The system verifies if a variant exists before using it; otherwise it falls back to the original image.
Why do product URLs use numbers?
Public product pages use simple sequential ids (e.g., /@handle/1) for clean, shareable links, while internal systems use UUIDs.
Do image uploads trigger image resizing?
Yes. Our image resizer listens to uploads and generates derivatives for better performance in Amazon AWS cloud.
